Prof. Stanley Ominde Khainga is one of Kenya’s leading Consultant Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeons, widely recognized for his contribution to advancing reconstructive surgery in Kenya and across the region.
With decades of experience in surgery, medical leadership, research, and mentorship, Prof. Khainga is known for combining surgical precision, innovation, and compassionate patient-centered care. He pioneered microvascular surgery services and introduced Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) in Kenya, significantly improving reconstructive and wound care treatment standards in the country.
His expertise spans reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, aesthetic surgery, burn and wound management, and complex restorative procedures, with a focus on restoring confidence, dignity, function, and quality of life.
Beyond clinical practice, Prof. Khainga serves as the Chairman of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), Professor of Surgery at the University of Nairobi, and Senior Editor of the Pan-African Journal of Plastics, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
He has supervised more than 30 postgraduate surgical specialists and authored over 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications, contributing significantly to medical education and the advancement of reconstructive surgery in Africa.
